Summer exploits

Happy Christmas!!
With Christmas in New Zealand comes summer, and hopefully some wonderfully warm weather for exploring. I will be making the most of the Christmas break to head into the mountains for a few days.
Several weeks ago I spent some time in the Marlborough Sounds tramping the Queen Charlotte Walkway with a vision impaired group. This walk covers 67 km from Ship Cove in the outer sounds to Anakiwa at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound. Its a fantastic walk and very manageable for those who are vision impaired.
En route we traveled along the Kaikoura Coast on the east of the South Island - this is certainly spectacular country and a great area for people of all interests and abilities. This top photo is looking north to the Kaikoura Peninsula.
Happy holidays.....
